Repairs to Kayes Patent oil can

Postby Oldiron » 01 Aug 2013, 21:43

Has anyone had any experience in repairing one of these? [you know the ones with the serrated looking seams all soldered together].
I got one at the local swapmeet, looks all good but doesn't pump oil! It looks like the only way to get at the internals is to unsolder the lid and/or the spout, not something I look forward to doing, any suggestions? Thanks - Simon

Simon, Is it meant to pump, or is it one of those that you have to hold down the button to allow the oil to run out.
A photo would help.
